ONWA Makes Waves in Kuwait
The Arabian Peninsula has a long and colourful marine heritage, from artesian fishing to traditional Dhow racing, the region’s inhabitants have consistently maximised the social and economic benefits provided by the surrounding seas and waterways.
In more recent times with the increased wealth garnered through the exploitation of vast oil reserves, Kuwait and other regional states have seen a tremendous upsurge in all forms of recreational marine and outdoor activities.
So it was hardly surprising that Gulf Telecom, Onwa’s newly appointed distributor for Kuwait reported a highly successful 2025 Kuwait International Boat Show.
This annual show held at the International Fairground, Mishref, from May 27 to May 31, has now become the largest and most comprehensive exhibition of its kind in the Gulf region, covering all recreational marine activities, including fishing, kayaking, diving, and all types of boating.
Consequently, this five day event was the perfect venue to provide Kuwaiti boating enthusiasts with an opportunity to preview the soon to be released Onwa ProVision™ Fishfinders and the amazing Astral™ Multi-Function Displays.
Saud Al Tawash, Gulf Telecom’s CEO, commented “The number of serious visitors to the booth was extremely encouraging with a substantial number of people pre-ordering the new Onwa models for July delivery.”
The new Onwa product line up includes 5” and 7” screen fishfinders featuring CHIRP sonar technology with SmartVision and side scan, 8” and12” MFDs with user definable multi-mode display and full NMEA 0183/2000 connectivity.
A key differentiating feature of all Onwa touch screen devices is the ultra-sensitivity of the interface, even with wet or dirty fingers the functions are easily and positively activated at all times. For additional information, please visit www.onwamarine.com or https://altawashmarine.com
