Thank you for your message! We apologize for the delay in responding. Here are the details regarding your queries:

    1. Your KP-27A’s current positioning is using both GPS and Beidou satellites. To specifically understand which satellites are being used, follow these steps to view the “GNGSA” sentence: Setup menu > NMEA data display > NMEA 1 INPUT. You will see two “GNGSA” lines, one indicating GPS satellite information and the other indicating Beidou satellite information. The integers starting from the second number in the sentence represent the satellite IDs involved in positioning.
    2. Actual satellite reception count: To determine the actual number of satellites received, refer to the “GSV” sentence. For example, if you see “$GPGSV,4,4,14………..”, the third number “14” represents the total number of GPS satellites currently received, while the third number in “$BDGSV” represents the total number of Beidou satellites received.
    3. Regarding satellite bar display: The ONWA chart plotter can display up to 12 satellite bars, with priority given to Beidou over GPS. Therefore, you will mostly see Beidou satellite bars displayed.
    4. Your KP-27A’s current positioning system is GPS + Beidou, while mobile phones use positioning chips that are different from chart plotters. Mobile phone positioning chips generally have multi-frequency and multi-mode functions, allowing for the use of more than two satellite positioning systems.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to leave a message.
